Shrimp Briyani
Ingredients:
1. 1lb Shrimp shelled and deveined
2. 2/3 cup grated Coconu
3. 2 tsp Garam Masala
4. 1 cup basmati rice
5. 1 Medium chopped Onion
6., 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
7. 1 tablespoon cashewnuts and Raisins
8. 1 Grated Ginger Piece
9. 1/4 cup Ghee or butter
10. 2 cloves crushed garlic
11. 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
12. 2 bay leaves
13. 2 green chillies
COOKING STEPS:
* Soak the rice in normal water for 20 minitus
* Make a fine paste of green chillies ,ginger ,garlic,garam masala ,cashewnuts and coconut.
* In a pan heat 3 tablespoone of butter and ghee, and ad half of onion and fry until goldewn brown.
* Add the paste to the onion and stir for about five minitus. Add shrimps and 1/2 teespoon salt. Mix well so that all the shrimps of coated with the cooked masala and cook on a low flame for 5 minutes. remove from heat and set aside.,
* In a separate pan heat 2 tablespoons butter or ghee and fry the bay leaves and add the remaining onions and fry until the onions are golden brown, Add the rice and stir fry for 10 minutes. Add the peas, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 2 cup of water.
* Put lid of the pan and let it stay for 15 minutes or until the rice is almost done on a low flame, preheat the oven to 300 degree F. In a serving bowl mix the shrimps and rice together, Cover the bowl with the aluminium foll. Put in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, when done add thee lime juice, and garnish the shrimp briyani with the fried cashashewnuts, and raisins.
